Cleaning \u2013<\/strong> Bath in acid solution to remove oils, masses and other greases.<br \/>\n<strong>2. Water Rinse \u2013<\/strong> Rinse performed to prevent contamination of subsequent baths.<br \/>\n<strong>3. Chemical Pickling in Acid\u00a0\u2013<\/strong> Bath in hydrochloric acid to remove oxides and mill scales.<br \/>\n<strong>4. Rinsing \u2013<\/strong> Rinse performed to prevent contamination of subsequent baths.<br \/>\n<strong>5. Fluxing \u2013<\/strong> Solution of zinc chloride and ammonium chloride which acts as protection against oxidation between the pickling and zinc immersion.<br \/>\n<strong>6. Drying \u2013<\/strong> Stage in an oven at 60\u00baC to dry the pieces and reduce the thermal shock upon immersion in the zinc bath. Furthermore acts as wetting agent of the pieces in the zinc bath.<br \/>\n<strong>7. Zinc bath \u2013<\/strong> Immersion in a bath of molten zinc between 440\u00ba and 465\u00ba to reaction between Fe\/Zn which composes the final coating.<br \/>\n<strong>8. hide_on_tablet=&#8221;true&#8221; hide_on_mobile=&#8221;true&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]A simplicidade do processo de galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o a quente \u00e9 uma vantagem sobre outros m\u00e9todos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra a corros\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>A hist\u00f3ria da galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o a quente tem in\u00edcio no ano de 1741, quando um qu\u00edmico franc\u00eas chamado Melouin descobriu que o zinco era capaz de proteger o a\u00e7o da corros\u00e3o. Ele apresentou os fundamentos do m\u00e9todo em uma reuni\u00e3o na Academia Real Francesa. Entretanto, o m\u00e9todo n\u00e3o foi muito utilizado at\u00e9 que outro qu\u00edmico franc\u00eas, Sorel, obteve a patente, em 10 de Maio de 1837, introduzindo a decapagem sulf\u00farica (a 9%) e a fluxagem com cloreto de am\u00f4nio como etapas anteriores e fundamentais do processo. A principal parte do processo patenteado por Sorel \u00e9 ainda atualmente utilizada. Em um ap\u00eandice \u00e0 sua patente, datado de Julho de 1837, Sorel denominou o m\u00e9todo de &#8220;galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, referindo-se \u00e0 cela galv\u00e2nica que \u00e9 criada quando o revestimento de zinco \u00e9 danificado. Como visto anteriormente, o a\u00e7o \u00e9 protegido galvanicamente pelo revestimento de zinco.<\/p>\n<p>O termo foi subsequentemente adotado a outros m\u00e9todos de revestimento do a\u00e7o pelo zinco, e, algumas vezes, \u00e9 utilizado para a deposi\u00e7\u00e3o met\u00e1lica eletrol\u00edtica em geral. Para evitar confus\u00e3o, a imers\u00e3o do a\u00e7o em zinco l\u00edquido deve ser referida como galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o a quente.<\/p>\n<p>Uma patente inglesa para um processo similar foi depositada em 1837. Em 1850, a ind\u00fastria de galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o inglesa j\u00e1 utilizava 10.000 ton de zinco por ano na prote\u00e7\u00e3o do a\u00e7o.<\/p>\n<p>A galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o pode ser encontrada em quase que todo tipo de aplica\u00e7\u00e3o e ind\u00fastria onde o a\u00e7o \u00e9 empregado. As ind\u00fastrias de utilidades dom\u00e9sticas, processos qu\u00edmicos, papel e celulose, constru\u00e7\u00e3o civil, transporte, para numerar algumas poucas, tem feito grande uso, hist\u00f3rico, da galvaniza\u00e7\u00e3o, no controle da corros\u00e3o.
